While we might be in the dead of winter now, this painting brings me joy because it focuses on the sprint thaw. Water runs off the higher mountain slopes as this mountain man brings his furs down the mountain. As I painted this work, the sense of depth kept drawing me back to this piece. From the purple tinted slopes in the background to the staggered horses, this painting offers many layers. What do you think has caught their eye off to the side?
