A few times a year, I find myself casting off from Tortola and setting sail. Every trip is an adventure. Each trip is unique. From diving with sea turtles to finding a new anchorage, the British Virgin Islands offer an opportunity to explore. I have been fortunate enough to explore these waters for many years, and I would be excited to share my stories with you.

This past trip, I ventured to the north side of Anegada to visit my friends at the Anegada Beach Club hotel. As we settled into a bench overlooking the ocean, the view flooded me with inspiration. As you look to the left and the right, you gain an appreciate for how remote and pristine the island is. When you get in the water, you realize that this coral ecosystem is just overflowing with life. In the 40+ years of going to the BVIs, I have seen areas of the BVI ebb and flow - but sitting at the Anegada Beach Club I feel as if the untouched islands of the past are coming to life.

Immediately, I draw inspiration from the surroundings of Anegada. The constant breeze blows the grass on the dunes. Fish swim about the shallow waters as if they were playing in the mild waves. In the distance, I see a flock of pink flamingos flying with their unmistakable long necks. While my time on the island was limited, the sights, smells, and emotions from this experience stayed with me, providing me with inspiration. When back on the catamaran, the experience stuck with me and I put my emotions down on canvas.  I encourage you to take a few moments, put yourself on “Island Time”, and have a look at my works below!

Smooth Sailing,

Roger

At this place, inspiration surrounds you - from the blowing sand to the relaxing ocean waves - it is magical.

Here are a few of my favorite works form my last trip to the British Virgin Islands - I hope you enjoy them! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to have one of these works in your home (or boat!).

I love watching the turtles enjoy the calm, warm water of the BVIs.
